In this session, we will go into FASB's recent changes to income tax disclosures, including the effective date and transition guidance, and how requirements differ for public business entities versus private entities. We will cover rate reconciliation, state and local income taxes, foreign tax effects, and valuation allowances, along with related disclosure requirements. We will also address practical considerations such as withholding taxes and Pillar Two, treatment of foreign branches, and materiality.

IFRS Update: Global Reporting Trends & US GAAP Comparisons

This session will go into the process of converting between US GAAP and IFRS, along with presentation and disclosure requirements in financial statements. We will discuss the structure and categorization of the statement of profit or loss, including the totals and subtotals it presents, as well as the principles of aggregation and disaggregation. We will also cover Management-Defined Performance Measures (MPMs) and their transition guidance, along with select differences between IFRS and US GAAP.
