Overview
This second part of the Accounting for International Operations webinar provides practical guidance on applying ASC 830 and IAS 21 to foreign currency accounting. Participants will explore accounting for foreign currency-denominated transactions, translation and remeasurement of foreign currency financial statements, determining functional currency, consolidating foreign subsidiaries, and foreign currency risk management, including derivative and hedging considerations. This will also include discussions on:
- Accounting for foreign currency transactions and consolidating foreign subsidiaries
- Foreign currency hedging strategies and the accounting for derivative instruments
Objective
To provide participants with a practical understanding of accounting for foreign currency transactions, translation and remeasurement of foreign currency financial statements, functional currency determination, and foreign currency risk management under US GAAP.
