Ethical conduct is the foundation of public trust in accounting, and Texas CPAs must adhere to the ethical standards established by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA). This course provides a practical, Texas-focused overview of professional ethics, emphasizing the principles of independence, integrity, objectivity, and competence, and their application under the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct. Participants will examine the relationship between the TSBPA Rules of Professional Conduct and the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, explore the evolution of ethics in the accounting profession, and apply ethical principles through historical case studies and real-world scenarios. You'll learn how to:
